2016XC: Day 4, June 18 – Lancaster, South Carolina to Auburn, Alabama
CampSites: Andrew Jackson State Park –to– Auburn RV Park at Leisure Time Campground
Even as overshadowed by the camper incident, the Andrew Jackson State Park campsite was really nice and we were glad to have stayed there…and we made a little furry friend, courtesy of my bag of cashews!
There was a trail just near our campsite, so we took a walk to check it out before leaving.
So the camper was back in business and ready to go. Steve (and Clint) did a great job. Minus the decals, it almost looks perfect!
On our way south…always some monkeying around at the rest stops…
Most times when we are thinking about our next stop, we just hit the GPS to find places to camp at, and for the most part we are fortunate to find little gems that we might not have found if we’d just booked in advance. Case in point – this campground in Auburn, Alabama overlooked a mega baseball field (five in all). It must have been during districts or state games because the girls’ were still playing at about 10:00pm that evening and then began again by 8:00am the next day, and all different teams.
Next stop, New Orleans.
