2016XC: Day 8, June 22 – New Orleans, Louisiana to Berwick (Morgan City), Louisiana

CampSite: Cypress Lakes RV Resort

Once again, we hadn’t made a reservation at any campground ahead of time. We had talked about also going to Texas on this trip, so we just decided to head in that direction.  After about 5 hours, we stopped at the “Cypress Lake RV Resort” in the town of Berwick, also known as Morgan City.  It was a pretty place, though oddly enough just off the main highway behind a large gas station/casino.  The campground had a large pool and super-long, fairly level pull-through sites.  We’d only planned to spend one night, but we were thinking it would be a place possible for more. It had lots of tall cypress trees with Spanish Moss, and our lot was just across the road from a beautiful, serene lake.

We arrived at the end of the day, so we just hung at the pool and the campsite.  It was a long day of travel, so we just vegged in the camper that evening – lots of mosquitoes, so better to be indoors at sundown anyway!
