2016XC: Day 10, June 24 – Berwick (Morgan City), Louisiana

CampSite: Cypress Lake RV Resort

At least while we have been in Louisiana,  the air seems pretty still most of the time so the lakes usually look serene, reflecting the sky and their surroundings.

We were enjoying the pool and the atmosphere and the campsite, so we stayed another day.  Later in the afternoon, we took a trip to the Wedell-Williams Aviation & Cypress Sawmill Museum.  The aviation musuem had some of the actual planes that were flown by Mr. Wedell & Mr. Williams, along with some other pilots.  According to the information at the museum, they both played a huge part in the history of aviation in this country, to the likes of the Wright Brothers.  The Cypress Sawmill Museum explained the history of how the market boomed for Cypress trees, all the uses and history stemming from that, and the downfall of one of the largest mills in this area.  Very interesting, and worth the visit.

Nothing else exciting to mention.  Leaving tomorrow for Texas!
