2014XC: Day 15, June 26 – Idaho, Bear Lake to Provo, Utah (Springville KOA)

It was a bit overcast again the next morning but we still felt like we lucked out staying there. The water was a little chilly and churned up but still a great swim.

One of the great things about this place was that you could drive anything on to beach – trucks, atvs, utvs, with your jetski or boat or whatever. Dogs were ok too. I do miss the beach since I moved from New Jersey to live in Pennsylvania, but if I ever wanted to live near a beach again, it would be a place like this with little to no restrictions. 🙂
As we packed up to leave, a storm was coming in. We were able to see at least a little of the lake looking turquoise as we left. It reminded me of a trip to St. Marten in the Caribbean.

Again, it seems to me that with each state border the landscape changes. It’s really amazing. The ride into Utah was really impressive with the hills and mountains. We stopped at a visitor center to get a map and use a little free wifi to find our next campsite for the night. There were prairie dogs all over, and, they were totally friendly. Gabriel and Christian and I enjoyed luring them close to us so we could almost touch them. They were even so friendly that we were able to pick grass, hold it out for them, and they would take it out of our hands and eat it. I am enjoying all the animals!

On our way to the next campground!

  1. Great scenery… the prairie dogs must not be in danger to be that tame.
Each turn of the bend seems to bring you new adventures.
