2014XC: Day 26, July 7 – Las Vegas, Nevada

Breakfast and then right over to the pool. Gabriel was doing even better swimming without his floaties – he even went underwater from one side of the 5′ to the other after jumping in! He’s a little fish just like his brothers.

Steve found out from his new friend at the campsite, “Blackie”, that we were able to also use the Sam’s
Town hotel pool as well as the campground one. So we took a walk over. This place was completely “Vegas” – we walked through a parking deck, into the building a through part of a casino, some fast food shops, a movie theater, more casino, an atrium with waterfalls, more restaurants, a mall, and even a lower level bowling alley! It was crazy – these places in Vegas spare no expense. Finally we found the outdoor pool. Really felt like we were at a beachy resort!

Once it got dark, we left our campground, Sam’s Town”, and headed to Vegas to see the lights. All I can say is, “wow”…

I think Las Vegas uses 3/4 of the electrical energy that the Hoover Dam makes. 🙂
