2016XC: Day 6, June 20 – Pensacola, Florida to New Orleans, Louisiana
CampSite: Pensacola Beach RV Resort –to– Pontchartrain Landing
So far we’ve had great weather, which is especially important when you’re at the beach!
Back to the campsite to try out the pool while the older boys and Steve rigged up the camper to leave…
And goodbye to Pensacola Beach for now…
It was a long ride to New Orleans and our campsite, Pontchatrain Landing, Marina & RV. It’s only a few minutes from the city, and where Steve had to go for the conference. We weren’t sure about it as we were approaching it – it’s hard to know what to expect with each place. We pulled in and began setting up, and I noticed that the bathroom vent cover had blown away. Seems like lately Steve has something to repair for just about every place we stop at. Guess we should try to find a portable ladder for the next trip. 😉
The next day Steve would be away at his conference, so it would be just the kids and I. Steve and I walked around to check the place out. It was actually a pretty cool place – some of the sites had private marinas, and we saw two yachts. And at the back of the main building there was another marina where you could rent a pontoon. Even though this place was smack in the middle of much industry and commercial yards and bridges, it was pretty cool. They even had “floating bungalos” to rent. It was actually a pretty neat place!
